Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service - Graniteville on Dec. 23, 2025.
Mr. James Walter Morrison, 76, of
Clearwater, SC, beloved husband of thirty-three years to Lisa Porter Morrison, entered into rest on Monday night, December 22, 2025, following a brave battle with cancer.
"Jimmy", "Morrison", "Bean" and "PaPa", as he was known, was born in
Centre, AL, to the late Joseph "Joe" and Christine Mote Morrison. In the early 1950's, Joe and Christine packed up the family and moved to Aiken County, SC, so Joe could help launch the E.I. DuPont Company.
Jimmy grew up in Stiefeltown, SC, and graduated from Leavelle McCampbell High School, now known as Graniteville High School. He answered his country's call by proudly and with honor serving in the United States Army Reserve.
Never afraid of hard work and knowing the value of a hard-earned dollar, he FINALLY retired as a Crew Leader at Kimberly-Clark Corporation.
Even though he was "tight" with a dollar, his family never went without, especially when it came to his grandchildren. Jimmy was a selfless man who always put the needs of others before those of his own.
Jimmy was very proud to have been born in the great state of Alabama. He was a "Tide Fan "up until the very end.
He enjoyed anything with wheels. Whether it be his Harley Heritage Softail Classic, 1972 Corvette, or 1968 Impala, if it had wheels, he was all about it.
To know Jimmy was to love Jimmy. Once he made your acquaintance, you soon had a friend.
Friends were very important to him. He was often found with his friends at NASCAR races, at the lake, and on boat trips on the Savannah River to Savannah, among other activities. Jimmy was all about his friends, but family was most important.
Nothing made Jimmy any happier than the time spent and memories made with his family, especially his grandchildren, Wyleigh Auffrey, Waylyn Auffrey, Mattison Auffrey, his latest grandson, Cory Banks Morrison, and his first grandchild, the late Wyatt James Auffrey, who will always hold a very special place in Jimmy's heart.
Along with his wife and grandchildren, Jimmy is survived by his sons, Kevin Morrison, Randy Morrison, and Cole Morrison; his daughter, Whitney (Matt) Auffrey; his siblings, Betty Hall, Carol Walker, and Roger Morrison; and other extended family members and countless friends.
Also preceding Jimmy in death were siblings, Wayne Morrison, Ricky Morrison, Merrill Morrison, Jerry Morrison, and Sonya Morgan.
The family will greet friends on Monday, December 29, 2025, beginning at noon at Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 3464 Jefferson Davis Highway,
Graniteville, SC. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2 o'clock in the chapel of Hatcher Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Pastor Dexter Lambert will officiate along with Jimmy's longtime friend, Clyde Harkins, and his daughter Whitney Auffrey. Interment will follow alongside his grandson, Wyatt, in Sunset Memorial Gardens,
Graniteville, SC. Pallbearers will be Jimmy's boys, Kevin, Randy, and Cole Morrison, his riding buddy, John Smith, longtime friend, Clyde Harkins, and his favorite (only) son-in-law, Matt Auffrey.
Please consider making memorials in memory of Jimmy to the American Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (www.sids.org) in honor of Wyatt.
