James Michael "Mike" Morrow, a devoted family man and passionate lover of nature, left this world on October 28, 2024, at his residence, surrounded by the beauty he cherished in life. Born on December 24, 1949, in Gaston County, NC, Mike was a beacon of warmth and kindness, shaped by the loving hands of his late parents, DA and Geraldine Ray Morrow.
Throughout his remarkable life, Mike’s heart resonated with the joys of family and the tranquility of the great outdoors. He shared an enduring love with his wife, Kim Morrow, for 45 beautiful years, their bond a testament to the power of companionship and respect. Together, they built a life suffused with laughter and love, welcoming into their lives two sons, Brandt and Jared Morrow, who both carry forward his legacy of generosity and spirit. Brandt and his wife Katie, alongside Jared and his wife Hannah, were not merely sons, but also steadfast friends to Mike, sharing countless memories that will forever be cherished. The joy multiplied in their family with the arrival of his granddaughter, Preslee, who brought immeasurable joy and pride to her beloved grandfather.
Mike had a love for animals, especially his love of generations of raccoons that he fed in his garage as pets. His passions extended beyond his love of animals; golf was a cherished pastime that saw him connect with friends and family under the wide-open sky. As a past member of the Pine Island Country Club, he enjoyed playing golf with numerous friends and family.
A collector at heart, he found joy in the nostalgia of sports cards, coin collecting, and memorabilia . He had quite a collection of each.
As we remember James Michael "Mike" Morrow, we reflect on a man whose spirit was interwoven with both the simple joys of everyday life and the grand adventures of his heart. He leaves behind not only his beloved wife, sons, and granddaughter but also a legacy of love that will continue to echo in the lives of those he touched. His lessons of kindness, respect for nature, and the bond of family will be cherished forever.
