James David Mozur

James "Jamie" David Mozur, of 1123 Shenk Avenue, died Monday, March 16, 2009, at Saint Vincent Health Center after an extended illness. He was born in Erie on May 27, 1982, the son of John P. Mozur, Jr. and Rebekah Runstedler Nutbrown. He was a 2001 graduate of McDowell High School. Jamie worked at Wegman's where he received Employee of the month awards numerous times. He was a member of St. Peter's Cathedral and Sons of the American Legion Millcreek Post 773. He loved computer games, taking care of his car, playing cards and making people happy with his generosity. Jamie was preceded in death by: his paternal grandfather, John P. Mozur, Sr.; his maternal grandparents, Arnold and Mary Runstedler; and a godfather, Steve Diramo. In addition to his parents, he is survived by: a sister, Lisa Grassi and her husband Ted; a brother, Eric Mozur; his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Mozur; a niece, Briana Grassi all of Erie; two aunts, Jeanette Castorina of Erie and Dorothy Mozur of Elyria, OH; and his godparents: Florence and Frank Ester of Erie, PA. Many cousins also survive. Friends may call at the Burton Westlake Funeral Home, 3801 West 26th Street, (at Powell Avneue,) Wednesday from 2 until 4 and 7 until 9 p.m. and are invited to attend services there Thursday at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Marc Soloman officiating. Burial will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Sons of the American Legion Millcreek Post 773 will have a service at the funeral home at 7:30 p.m. Memorials may be made to the family in care of the Burton Funeral Home, P.O.
