James Edward "Jim" Mullahy, age 65, of St. Augustine, passed away unexpectedly on September 27, 2024 at his residence. Jim was born on June 30, 1959 in NYC, NY to parents Desmond J. and Nora (Hoare) Mullahy. He graduated from Cornwall Central High School with the class of 1977 and soon after enlisted in the US Navy. He served in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS Briscoe and USS Ranger where he worked on F14 Fighter Jets. After his discharge from the Navy, he returned to New York and worked for the New York Public Transit Authority for 5 years. After becoming disabled Jim moved to Palm Coast in the early 1990's. He had been a resident of St. Augustine for the past 15 years. Jim was a classic car enthusiast and enjoyed being an uncle to his nieces and nephews. He was a lifelong Catholic and a member of the Cathedral Parish. He will be missed.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Nora and Desmond Mullahy. He is survived by his brothers, Kevin Mullahy and his wife Cathy of North Babylon, NY, Desmond Mullahy and his wife, Bonnie of Jacksonville, nieces and nephews, Michael, Kevin, Laura, Patrick & Nora.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10 am on Tuesday, Oct. 15, 2024 at the Cathedral Basilica of St. Augustine. Interment with military honors will follow at 10 am on Thursday, October 24, 2024 at Calverton National Cemetery in Wading River, Long Island, NY.
St. Johns Family Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
