James Neal Obituary

Neal, Jr. announces his passing on February 8, 2025 at his
home shared with Betty Raiford Rollins-Neal, his wife of 16
years. "JP," as he was affectionately called throughout his
life, was a strong advocate of scholarship, perseverance,
uplift, manhood, love, hope, peace; along with true
Spirituality.
In addition to his parents, James P. (Geneva Harris Outten)
Neal Sr. JP was preceded in death by his brother, Talmadge
J'Von Neal and his former wife, Phyllis Mashreque-Neal. He
leaves to cherish his memory; wife, Betty Raiford Rollins
Neal; brother, Albert Aiken (Virginia M.) Neal; son James
Peter Neal, III; daughter, Monica Roslyn Neal; nieces, Erica
(Hal) Neal Lowman and Aleta (Roderick) Neal McCollum; the
only maternal first-cousin, Pamela Jones (Geonard) Butler
and other relatives and friends. Per his wishes, Neal's burial
service will be private. Palmer Memorial Chapel at 1200
Fontaine Place is assisting the family. Memories may be
shared at Palmer's website.
