James Nelson Obituary
Mr. James Truman Nelson departed this life on Wednesday, June 18, 2025, after a brief illness.
Truman was born in Marion, SC on September 17, 1946, to the late Mr. Edward L. Nelson and Mrs. Mary T. Nelson.
He was educated in the public schools of Marion County.
He was also a Veteran who served in the United States Army.
Truman accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Pleasant Grove Missionary Baptist Church.
Truman was proceeded in death by his parents, and two brothers, Isaac L. Nelson and Dock C. Nelson.
He leaves to cherish fond memories: his sons Marc K. Nelson of Marion, SC and Marquis R. Woodberry, Sr., of Mullins, SC; three sisters, Cynthia N. Williamson, Rebecca (Pearley) Legette, and Jennifer N. Parsley all of Marion, SC; one brother, E. Kenneth Nelson of Ladson, SC; three grandchildren, Abreyah N. Woodberry, Marquis R. Woodberry, Jr., and Di’quise J. Woodberry of Mullins, SC; special nieces (daughters), Dr. Pamela D. Williamson and Katrina L. Legette of Charlotte, NC; Kimberly W. Houser of Spartanburg, SC; special nephews (sons), Dennis C. Legette of Round Rock, TX, and Patrick D. Legette of Marion, SC; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friend
