O'SHEA, James Paul, 68, Henrico, Va., passed away on June 12, 2011 at home. He was born June 14, 1942 in Erie, the son of James H. and Elizabeth (Lyman) O'Shea. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Joanne Harris; and father-in-law, Freddie Marks. James is survived by wife, Charlene (Marks) O'Shea; children, Stephanie M. O'Shea of Henrico, Va., and Dennis C. O'Shea of Richmond, Va.; mother-in-law, Evelyn S. Marks of Carrolltown; his cats, Brownie and Paris; and two nieces and numerous cousins. James was the last remaining member of his immediate family. He was raised in Windsor, Conn., and was a graduate of St. Anslem College in New Hampshire. He then served six years in the D.C. National Guard and was called to active duty for Martin Luther King Jr.'s assassination. He worked for Aetna Insurance Company for 16 years and retired from Marsh Inc. after 25 years of service as an insurance broker. He was a member of the St. Michael's Catholic Church in Henrico, Va. James enjoyed golf and the Pittsburgh Steelers and was an avid Red Sox fan. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. on Wednesday at Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., 146 North Main Street, Carrolltown. Additional viewing will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. until the 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Carrolltown, by Rev. Blaine Resko, OSB. Committal at the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are requested to Carmelite Community of the Word, 394 Bem Road, Gallitzin, Pa. 16641. www.stevensfh.com
