James Robert "Stoney" Odell

James Robert “Stoney” Odell, 65, of Bedford Texas, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on April 13, 1960, in Sulphur, Oklahoma, Stoney lived a life defined by dedication, humor, and heart. He spent 30 years at Bell Helicopter as a Transportation Supervisor, followed by a decade at BAE Systems as a Logistics Manager. His work ethic and leadership left a lasting impression on colleagues and friends alike.

In his youth, Stoney was a gifted athlete who excelled in multiple sports, with baseball holding a special place in his heart. That competitive spirit and love for the game carried into adulthood, where he became an avid golfer, spending countless hours on the green with friends and family.

Above all, Stoney cherished his role as a grandfather. His greatest joy in recent years came from watching his five grandchildren—Paxton, Annalynn, Knox, Rune, and Chaytan—grow, play, and thrive in their sports and activities. His pride in them was boundless.

Stoney is survived by his devoted wife, Katrina Odell; his children Brittny and Zach Wilkerson, and Zach and Mary Odell; his grandchildren; his mother, LaDonna Wright; his sister Denise Nors and husband John; his brother Billy Odell; and many beloved extended family members. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Odell.

Visitation will be held on October 9, 2025, from 6–8 PM at Lucas Funeral Home, 1321 Precinct Line Road, Hurst, TX 76053. A celebration of Stoney’s life will follow on October 10, 2025, at 11 AM at the same location.

Stoney will be remembered for his laughter, loyalty, and the love he poured into every relationship. His legacy lives on in the stories shared, the lessons taught, and the lives he touched.
