James Allen Paley, died Friday, August 29th, 2025, while vacationing in Ocean City, MD. A place he dearly enjoyed spending time. Jimmy is a U.S. Marine veteran of the Korean War.

Jimmy was born, March 9th, 1932, in Lancaster, PA to parents Samuel Allen and Sarah Wimer Paley. At the age of 12, Jimmy moved to Kingston, with his parents and sisters, Helen and Yvonne. He graduated from Kingston High School Class of 1949. Following high school, he enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp., completed boot camp and training school. Jimmy then served his country during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. In 2021 Jimmy received an Ambassador for Peace Medal from the South Korean Government for his service. After returning from Korea, Jimmy attended Wilkes College and began working in a managerial capacity for several manufacturing companies prior to his long and successful career as a Labor Relations Mediator for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, retiring in 2010. During his career Jimmy traveled throughout Pennsylvania bringing differing sides and perspectives to the table, constructing and negotiating settlements and agreements. He had a knack.

Jimmy… or affectionately "Moose" to his friends, was an avid NY Yankee and Giant fan. He loyally attended opening day at Yankee Stadium for years and enjoyed following sports. More than this Jimmy looked forward every year to summer vacation in Ocean City, MD. In between, Moose was always making the "rounds" checking on family, delivering papers, running errands, or walking Kirby Park with the family dog, Zeus.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Paley; sister, Helen O'Neil; brother-in-law, Bucky O'Neil and Donald Reynolds.

He is survived by his son, Jason Paley and wife Tina; daughter, Faith and husband Jeff; grandchildren, Alyssa and Anthony Matzoni; sister, Yvonne Reynolds; as well as several nieces and nephews.

By Jimmy's request and insistence there will be no funeral services. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Hugh B. Hughes & Son, Inc. Funeral Home, Forty Fort.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Jimmy's name to the local SPCA of Luzerne County; 524 E Main St, Wilkes-Barre, PA 18702; or if so inclined, cheer on the Yankees.
