James Patrick

James Patrick, born on June 6, 1940, in Hindman, Kentucky, was the beloved son of the late Grover Patrick, Sr. and Sylvania Ritchie. He was united in marriage to Olga Cornett Patrick, who preceded him in death. He passed away on September 22, 2025, at the age of 85. James was a dedicated family man, survived by his daughter, Jamie Patrick, and granddaughter, Chrissy Smith, both residing in Somerset, Kentucky. He is also mourned by his siblings, Glenda Cook and Trela Cox of London, Kentucky, Golda Nickles and husband Bobby of Jellico, Tennessee, Vergie Cook and husband Sammy of Knott County, Kentucky, Charlie Patrick of Knott County, Kentucky, Grover Patrick, Jr. and wife Linda of Milton, Florida, Roy Patrick of Milton, Florida, and Bessie Robbins and husband Jim of Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, along with numerous relatives and friends.

James was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, two brothers, Tommy Lynn Cornett and Billy Patrick, and two sisters, Cora Robbins and Jewel Everage. He was the owner and operator of Jamie Coal Company, where he dedicated much of his life.
