IRON MOUNTAIN - James E. Pericolosi, 103, of Iron Mountain, passed away on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at Evergreen Assisted Living in Kingsford.
He was born on February 16, 1922, in Chicago, IL, son of the late Frank and Clorinda (Faccin) Pericolosi. At a young age, Jim's parents passed away and he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Catherine & Frank Faccin. He graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1940 and was a lifelong resident of the area. Following graduation Jim enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he proudly served his country. Jim married Carol Mitchell at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain on Sept. 17, 1949; she preceded him in death on May 4, 2007. Jim spent 38 years working as a lineman for Michigan Bell before retiring in 1983. He was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at camp. He also enjoyed bocce and played baseball and football in his younger years. He was a member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Jim is survived by three sons, Russ (Denise) Pericolosi of Iron Mountain, Pete (Kim) Pericolosi of Oconto, and Tom (Ann) Pericolosi of Breitung Township; 6 grandchildren, Melissa (Jim) Hewitt, Ryan (Sara) Pericolosi, Jake (Jenn) Pericolosi, James (Donna) Pericolosi, Tony (Alexandra) Pericolosi and Abby (Bryan) Baumgartner; 11 great-grandchildren, Liam, Owen, Kendall, Blake, Kate, Brody, Brock, Sophia, Luca, Julian and Clara; and many special nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife and parents, Jim was also preceded in death by his aunt & uncle, Catherine & Frank Faccin; a brother, Steve Faccin; and two sisters, Jean Simmons and Lorraine Soltess.
The family would like to thank the past and present caregivers at Evergreen for their tremendous passion, dedication, and care that Jim received over the past 4 years. They truly are angels from God!!
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 21 from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Erickson-Rochon and Nash Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. The funeral mass will follow at 12:00 noon at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Michael Chenier will offer the Mass of Christian Burial.
Burial with military honors will be held at Iron Mountain Cemetery Park.
Jim's grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers a memorial will be established in his memory.
