James Lee Phillips was born on September 1, 1967, in Centerville, Texas to his parentage. He attended Centerville Public Schools and was known and loved by his family. He was a graduate of Centerville Public Schools and was a plumber and handyman by trade. He was a father, a brother, a nephew, and a friend. He leaves many to cherish his memory. James Lee Phillips departed this life on August 21, 2024, in Buffalo, Texas.
James Lee was preceded in death by one son, Roderick Phillips and his mother, Ms. Frances D. He also leaves to cherish his loving memories his five children, Broderick Mckinzie, Jasmine Phillips, Jamie Phillips (Carlton) Hall, Cameron Mckinzie, and James Phillips, Jr.; thirteen grandchildren, Alexis, Jordan, and K'Niyah McKinzie, Rowdy, Jaxson, Levi, Journey, and Jeremy Wyble, Jordan Dunn, Kam'Bre Hart, Ki"Morie Hart, and Kamarii and Ky'Rihanna Phillips; one brother, Bennie Phillips; six aunts, Vesta Brown, Gloria Phillips, Lois Proctor, Virginia Phillips, Loula Phillips and Laura Phillips; and a host of family and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
A homegoing service for James Lee Phillips will held 11 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Ebenezer Baptist Church, Centerville, Texas. Rev. Winston Spencer, Jr. will officiate the service. Interment will follow in Centerville Community Cemetery.
Arrangements are entrusted to Walters Funeral Home, Centerville, Texas.
