James Michael Plouffe

James Michael Plouffe, 58, of Crawfordville, passed away peacefully at his home on January 27, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. James was a resident of Crawfordville for the majority of his adult life and proudly served his community through a 17-year career with the Wakulla County Sheriff's Office. Following his retirement, he founded James Plouffe Mulching, where he continued serving others through land-clearing work that he genuinely enjoyed. Known for his easy smile and generous spirit, James found joy in life's simple pleasures-playing cornhole with friends, casting a line while fishing, and collecting antiques and baseball cards. Above all, he deeply cherished time spent with his beloved grandchildren. James was preceded in death by his sister, Michelle Estes. He will be lovingly remembered by his parents, Jerry and Claudia Plouffe; his children, Adam Plouffe (Kayla), Jacob Plouffe (Kathryn), Tanner Plouffe, and River Plouffe; his sister, Angela Plouffe (Hoyt); and his cherished grandchildren, Adalyn, Jax, Banks, and Kiersten. Also, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Panacea First Baptist Church, with interment to follow at Panacea Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Young Family Funeral Home in Crawfordville.
