James Lee Porter

James Lee Porter was the middle child out of three children by Vernestine Porter and Mansfield Stockdale, Eugene, James, Lenno Richard Moe and Cecil .

On July 20,1959 James Lee Porter enlisted to the Marine Corps, reserve he was stationed at Camp Pendleton ,California where he served four years to the United States, Marine Corps. In 1996 James and Ola purchase the property on the corner of 4401 Prospect Avenue where he establish his own Family Car lot helping families with reliable transportation for 20 years . He truly loved going to the auction, purchasing cars and spending time with families and friends. His best friends Saleem Rasheed met at the age of 17.

He was a retired and dedicated employee at Ford Motor Company for 30 years and a husband to Ola Porter for 31 years before she passed away in 2004.

He leaves four daughters, Kim Bowman (James), Sherry Linn (Doug), Jacinda Porter, and Jamie Mcgee, His grandchildren Emanuel, Angel, Ja'Mae, Richard, Olanna, Christopher, Rodnesha, Rodney, Kerrie, Kerrya, and his great grandchildren Jonie Louise, Elias James, Ezra James 07/28/22, Elise Jeanette 02/05/24. His companion Donna Ruth, And host of Family and Friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday March 22, 2024, visitation will be held 10 A.M. - 11 A.M. - with services beginning at 11 A.M. at Macedonia Baptist Church 1700 Linwood Blvd Kansas City, Mo  64109.
