Jimmy is only child of the late Sam Trible “S.T.” Porterfield and Blondin James Porterfield McGaha, He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Chelsea Beth. Even though it is stated he was the only child he sure had a big heart for wildlife along with many animals, as his siblings. Jimmy was born in Madison County on January 24, 1937. He will be remembered for his quiet strength, his love of family, and his generous heart. He went to build his career as an iron construction worker, in Atlanta Georgia. After that he had a hog farm, then in 1980 he opened an antique store in Danielsville, which was well known as “A gathering place for all." That is where he met many friends in life.
He loved to spend time with his family on special occasions. He loved going to the beach, walking with sweetie, and listening to the ocean. Even though he is a lovable soul, he had a quirky way of showing his tough love. His family will always remember his favorite sayings.
His children has so many fun and loving memories, never knew what adventures he may come across for them, that they should cherish all the time. They will always share the times that they had with their children and pass it on to each generation to come.
His favorite things were going to different flea markets and yard sales. His favorite one was the J and J Flea Market, in Athens Ga, but on Fridays and Sundays he would go to his other favorite place which would be The Smoking Gun Auction, in Danielsville, Ga, where he met so many friends, which to this day loved him.
