Prchlik, James Edward, age 65, of Metamora, died Sunday, June 8, 2025, at his home. A memorial will be held at Jim's favorite park, Metamora-Hadley State Park at the back pavilion on Sunday, June 29, 2025, at 1 p.m. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Metamora-Hadley State Park: https://fundraise.givesmart.com/form/0lTORw?vid=1k5h7k.
James "Jim" was born in Flint, Michigan on August 11, 1959, the son of John and Mary (Dick) Prchlik. Jim retired from General Motors after over 45 years of service. He found a sense of pride in his years at the shop and enjoyed his coworkers who became friends.
Jim found joy in simple pleasures, especially being outdoors. He loved spending time on the lake boating, fishing, swimming, water skiing, or taking his kids tubing. He enjoyed his snowmobiles, taking his family on winter trips and many rides on the lake when it froze over. When his kids were young, the family spent many weekends in the summer camping up north at the state parks, making lasting memories on the beaches of the Great Lakes. The family enjoyed going on long bike rides and ending the evening making "campfire stew" and s'mores over the campfire.
James also had a deep love of music. In his younger years, he played guitar in a band and attended countless concerts, a passion that stayed with him throughout his life. Jim would often be heard practicing his guitar at home.
James is survived by his children, Sarah and her husband, Nick Torony, Angela Prchlik, Emily Prchlik and her husband, Nicholas Roddy, Ryan Prchlik; and his grandchildren, Louie and Joanna Torony. He is also survived by his mother, Mary Prchlik; and his siblings, Scott Prchlik, Nancy and her husband, Robert Essler, and Steven Prchlik. He is lovingly remembered by many nieces and nephews and shared a particularly close bond with Jeremy Prchlik, Jonathan Prchlik, and Megan Floria. He was preceded in death by his father, John Prchlik; and his brothers, Robert Prchlik and John Prchlik.

Jim is our nephew and was ring bearer at our wedding in 1964. We enjoyed that in our wedding pictures he was standing on the sides of his shoes. Condolences to his mother, Mary and his children and family. May God welcome him into His heavenly home. RIP Jimmy.
