James "Bruce" Pritchett Jr.

James Bruce Pritchett, Jr., 64, passed away of natural causes on September 13, 2025, in Cartersville, Georgia, after a long and courageous battle with kidney failure, heart issues, and diabetes.

Born in Macon, Georgia, on June 1, 1961, Bruce spent much of his childhood in Marathon, Florida - a town that always held a special place in his heart. He later returned to Marietta, Georgia and graduated from Sprayberry High School in 1979, where he was a standout athlete and football player. He went on to play college football at the University of West Georgia where he was named an All-American lineman and proudly helped lead the team to a National Championship in 1982. In recognition of his accomplishments, Bruce was inducted into the University of West Georgia Athletics Hall of Fame in 2022.

Bruce spent many years as a truck driver, with the majority of his career at North Georgia Brick. He was known for his strong work ethic, sense of humor, and the easy camaraderie he shared with coworkers and friends alike.

Bruce bravely faced his health challenges and personal struggles - battles that shaped him but never defined him. Through it all, Bruce remained a source of strength and inspiration to others and leaned heavily on his faith. His openness, resilience, and compassion lifted those around him. He had a rare gift for making people feel seen, valued, and loved - often helping others see the good in themselves when they couldn't see it on their own.

Bruce had a deep love for bass fishing, UGA football, the ocean, and all things Harley-Davidson. He was larger than life - funny, fiercely loyal, and the kind of person who could light up any room. He made you laugh until you cried and never met a stranger. His presence will be deeply missed, but his spirit lives on in the many lives he touched.

He is survived by his daughter, Maddie; his grandchildren, Macie and Everett; his younger brother, Dana; and an army of friends and loved ones who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.
