James Albert Prophater, Jr. (Jim), 94, of Oklahoma City passed away peacefully on October 4, 2017. He was born on May 13, 1923 in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to James Albert Prophater Sr. and Elizabeth James. Jim grew up in Pittsburg and graduated from Carrick High School and The Art Institute of Pittsburg. He served in the U.S. Army, Signal Corps, and during WWII 1943-1946. He spent 2 of those years in the Philippines.

Although Jim was born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA. He also lived in Medford, Oregon and Tulsa, Oklahoma before moving to Oklahoma City in 1981. Jim was a very accomplished Commercial Artist for over 50 years specializing in Airbrush Retouching.

Jim married Kathryn Jane Antiss on November 1, 1943. They were married 30 years until Kathryn's death on October 5, 1972. They had 3 daughters. He later married Judith Ann Webster on January 26, 1973. They have been married for 43 years and they raised 3 children together.

Jim is survived by his wife: Judith A. Prophater; 4 daughters: Diane and husband Michael Constantine, Leslie Norman, Dawn and husband Wayne Giddings, Rachel and husband Brent Duke; 2 sons: Scott Webster and wife Vicki, Stephen Prophater, 14 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren ,1 great-great grandchild and 6 nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by: his father: James A. Prophater, Sr., his mother: Elizabeth Jenkins Prophater, his sister: Mary Lou Pogany, his first wife: Kathryn Antiss Prophater and his son-in-law Greg Norman.

Services for Jim will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 11:00am at Chapel Hill Funeral Home 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, OK 73162.
