James B. Queer

James B. Queer, 75, of Mt. Pleasant (Bullskin Township) died Tuesday, September 24, 2024, at The Grove at Latrobe. Mr. Queer was born October 30, 1948, in Mt. Pleasant to the late Arthur Queer and Opal Porch Queer Scherer. James worked as a truck driver for Painter Coal Company, Eutsey Lumber Company, and Goodwill. He was a former Bullskin Township Volunteer Fireman. Jim was a member of the Bridgeport Sportmans Club and the Sons of Italy in Scottdale. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, demolition derbies, helping out at the Bullskin Fair, and milking cows. Jim is survived by his loving family, his wife of 51 years, Sandy Sirgey Queer; his son, Jim Queer (Kelly Galla); his daughters, Shery Queer, and Tami Tabich (Carl); 4 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Ruth Scherer, Tressa Cesario, Dennis Scherer, and David Scherer. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Elmer Scherer, and Connie DeArmit. Family and friends will be received from 3 to 9 p.m. on Friday at GALONE-CARUSO FUNERAL HOME INC., Mt. Pleasant. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Interment will follow in Greenlick Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the funeral home to help defray funeral costs.
