James Arthur Rader Jr. was born at Fairfax, Missouri on July 16, 1943 to James Rader and Eunice Beal. He was baptized in 1960 and confirmed in the Lutheran church in 1976. He lived and worked in Falls City, Nebraska and later moved to Nebraska City. He married Peggy Warrick in 1975 and in 1981 they moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado. He attended the Buick College of Service Management and worked several years as a service manager in several car dealerships. Before retirement in 2005, he sold automotive shop equipment to car dealerships and automotive garages. Jim and Peggy enjoyed many years in their church home, Holy Cross Lutheran Church where Jim served as usher and communion server. He volunteered as Sunday School Teacher in Nebraska City and was an EMT on the Nebraska City Rescue Squad. His hobby in HAM Radio brough him many close friends and enjoyment. He also loved fly fishing. During retirement Jim and Peggy enjoyed their travels to several countries and around the United States.
Jim is survived by his wife, Peggy, his two sons James C. Rader and Brian Warrick (Jennifer), one grandchild, three great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Jim was preceded in death by his father and mother James and Eunice Rader and a grandson Alex Rader.
Services will be held at Holy Cross Lutheran Church.
In lieu of flowers, please send contributions to: Holy Cross Lutheran Church food pantry in Colorado Springs or Healing Waters Fly Fishing, Inc. PO Box 695, LA Plata, MD 20646. This is an organization that is dedicated to the physical and emotional rehabilitation of disable active military service personnel and disabled veterans through fly fishing and associated activities including education and outings.
