James Regules Obituary
James "Jaime" C. Regules, a cherished husband, father, son, brother and friend, passed away unexpectedly on September 24, 2025, in Columbus, Ohio. Born on September 9, 1965, in Marion, Ohio, Jaime's infectious laughter and kind spirit brought joy to all who knew him. His life was a testament to the power of positivity and the importance of family.
Jaime was a graduate of Elgin High School's Class of 1983 and went on to attend Bowling Green State University, where he graduated in 1988 and was a proud member of Delta Tau Delta fraternity. He was a hardworking and dedicated team member of Unum for over 30 years.
While his work was important, Jaime's heart was truly at home. He is survived by his loving wife, Athanasia, and their three children, Katerina, Maria, and Petros. Jaime was a beacon of guidance and support, always present to cheer on his children in all their endeavors. His legacy lives on through his family, who will remember him as a man who loved deeply and laughed often.
Jaime was predeceased by his father, Petro "Pat" Regules. In addition to his wife and kids, Jaime is survived by his mother, Kathryne Regules; brother, Chuck; and sister, Andrea (Terry) Honaker; close cousin Pete Regules; lifelong best friend Scott Buckley, nieces, nephews, godsons and many other relatives, numerous friends, and colleagues.
Jaime was also a man of faith and proud of his Greek heritage. He was a devout member of The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral. Anyone who knew Jaime knew he was an avid Ohio State Buckeye fan, which is an understatement. You can count the number of games he missed easier than the ones he attended. His interests extended beyond sports as he found great pleasure in just spending time with those he loved and cared about, especially his children. Jaime's presence was a source of comfort and happiness and he was always trying to make lives of those he cared for easier.
Jaime will be remembered for his funny anecdotes, his friendly conversations, and his passionate love for life. His laughter will resonate in the hearts of those he met, and his warmth was a light that will continue to shine.
Visitation will be held Sunday, September 28th from 2:00 to 5:00 pm at The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral 555 N. High St. and where the funeral service will be held on Monday at 10:30 am. Interment Union Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to O. R. Woodyard Northwest Chapel. In lieu of flowers family suggests donations in Jaime's memory to The Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral.
