NEW BUFFALO - James Vaughan Reimann, 80, of New Buffalo, MI, passed away at Memorial Hospital in South Bend, IN, on Thursday, August 7, 2025.
Arrangements have been entrusted with Sommerfeld Chapel – 15 N. Barton St., New Buffalo, MI.
James was born on August 19, 1944, in Highland Park, MI, to the late Samuel Reimann and Madeline (Sowash) Delaney.
On August 20, 1976, he married Sharon Lynn Baumgartner. They together lived in South Bend, IN, then Colorado, and came to New Buffalo in 1990. James was an Engineer Technician for approximately 25 years – retiring in 2006, from Bosch in South Bend. He played semi-pro football in his younger years; enjoyed skiing, model trains, Lake Michigan and New Buffalo. James also spent some years on the New Buffalo City Council. But his biggest love was his family, especially spending time with his great grandchildren.
James is survived by his wife – Sharon; children – James (Julie) Reimann of Westfield, IN, Suzanne (Roberts) Reimann-Bradford of Daytona Beach, FL, Julie Young of Newport Richey, FL, and Amy Hunt-Reimann of Michigan City, IN; grandchildren – Lexi, Tori, Matthew, Toni, David, Olivia and Devin; seven great grandchildren; sisters – Kathy (David) Banks and Dorothy (Tim) Savas; and a brother – Charles Reimann. He is preceded in death by brothers – Richard Reimann and John Mark Delaney, and a grandson – Michael.
