James Rendeiro Obituary

James Carlos Rendeiro, Jr., passed away Saturday, July 19, 2025.

He was born in Freemansburg, Pennsylvania, on November 8, 1925, the son of the late James Carlos Rendeiro and Mary Popash Rendeiro, and was preceded in death by his wife of almost 70 years, Susan Evans Rendeiro. Jim graduated from Penn State University in 1948 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering and was a recipient of an Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, graduating from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Master of Science Degree in Industrial Management in 1963. He served as a naval officer in the Pacific Amphibious Forces on a Landing Ship Tank during WWII. He married Susan Evans at St. James Episcopal Church in Downingtown, PA in 1950. After a long and successful career as an executive in the steel and iron castings industries he and his wife moved to Savannah in 1980, where he was President and CEO of the Ductile Iron Company of America. He was an active member and former vestryman of St. John's Episcopal Church. He enjoyed the shooting sports throughout his life and was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association.

Surviving are his daughter, Melissa R. Eichner of Montagnola, Switzerland and sons James C. Rendeiro III of Wilton, CT and Michael A. Rendeiro of Savannah, GA. His son Christopher M. Rendeiro of Spring, TX passed away in 2015.

No flowers, remembrances to St. John's Church.
