James Curtis Rhodes, 68, of Elkin, passed away on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at Novant Health in Winston-Salem. Curtis was born in Wilkes County on August 3, 1958, to Paul Eugene Rhodes and Alma Brown Rhodes.
He loved fishing, playing golf, and helping friends and neighbors with projects in his shed; he had many talents and shared them by helping others.
Curtis loved life and all of his family and friends. He was an awesome man. If you had met him once, you would never have forgotten him.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two sisters, Joyce Cothren and Vicki Mcgrady, and brothers, Roger Dale Rhodes and William Conley Rhodes.
Survivors include: his wife, Terry Rhodes, of the home; sons Nicky Rhodes and Andy Rhodes and wife Chrissy; sister Sandra Gayle Byrd; brothers Tommy Rhodes, Paul Rhodes Jr. and wife Deborah, and Kenneth Ray Rhodes and wife Debra; several loving nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Friday, March 21, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Oak Level Baptist Church, with Rev. James Hall officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 -2:00 p.m. at the church.
