James M. Risberg, 75, of Iron River, MI, passed away on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at home surrounded by family.
He was born on October 6, 1950, in Waukesha, WI, the son of the late Walfred and June (Autio) Risberg. Jim attended the area schools, graduating from West Iron County High School with the class of 1968. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard.
Jim married Candice Koski on July 21, 1979, at the First Presbyterian Church in Iron River. The couple celebrated their 46th wedding anniversary this year.
He was employed in the mining industry before retiring. Jim was a member of the VFW Ottawa Post 3134, the UAW, and the Iron County Engineers Club. He was a die-hard Green Bay Packers fan. Jim loved to go camping with his family and special camping buddies Bob and Marie Konoske and spend time at camp. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren. Jim was a local Little League coach for many years.
Jim is survived by his wife, Candy; sons, Marc Risberg of Caspian, MI and Aaron (Amanda Tukesbrey) Risberg of Iron River, MI; daughter, Season (Jim) Pelkola of Iron River, MI; grandchildren, Ryker Lesniak, Brodi, Kannen, and Grady Pelkola, Lexton Risberg, and Kristi (Colton) Kurtz; great grandchildren, Stella, Crew, and Margo Kurtz; extended family and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Iron County Little League, PO Box 163, Gaastra, MI 49927.
