James A. 'Jim' Rispoli, age 82 passed away peacefully on Tuesday afternoon, November 22, 2022 at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus. He was a resident of Nashville and former 50 year resident of Chicago.
Jim was born June 3, 1940 in Chicago, IL, to the late Anthony James and Ann (D'Agustino) Rispoli. He grew up on the south side of Chicago attended De La Salle High School in Chicago. Jim was the owner and operator of the Carmel Corn Cottage in Nashville for the past 23 years. He will be remembered as great Ambassador for the town of Nashville and all of Brown County with meeting people from all over the world that would visit his store. Jim was always very welcoming and appreciative to those that visited Brown County. Many visitors would come every year and seek out Jim, his store and especially his 'Carmel Delights' which were made from his very own recipe. Jim's favorite job was holding the bench down in front of his shop and sharing corny jokes.
He was very dedicated to the Brown County community by being a member of the Brown County Lions Club for the past 21 years, member of the Chamber of Commerce since 2006, Moose Lodge #398 in Columbus since 2015 and a member of the Horse Camp Christian Outreach. Jim will be remembered as a staunch Republican who enjoyed fishing and traveling, especially to Alaska.
