James H. Roberts

James H. Roberts, age 85, of Shelby, passed away Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Ohio Health Hospital in Shelby, surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on July 17, 1940, in Shelby, to Russell and Alta (Billman) Roberts. He had been an area resident for the majority of his life. He graduated from Shelby High School in 1958. Following high school, he attended the North Central State College in Mansfield. He also was a veteran of the US Air National Guard. James had been employed with AMF in Shelby from the time he left school until they closed, as well as Newman Technology in Mansfield for numerous years, before his retirement.
James was a member of the Shelby Community Senior Center, where he was also a board member. He liked to spend time at the senior center with friends playing card games, especially euchre. He was also a skilled woodworker that specialized in cabinetmaking. Over the years, he had built many beautifully crafted cupboards for family and friends. He was also proficient in all forms of needlework.
He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Sandra (Ingram) Roberts, whom he wed May 11, 1963; one daughter, Mandy Nicole Roberts; one sister, Joanne Bland; sister-in-law, Vicki Krauss; two brothers-in-law Roger (Lois) Ingram and Michael (Mary Anne) Wells; as well as many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by 11 siblings.
Per the families wishes, no services will be held at this time.
