James Michael Roberts, better known as “Rooster,” was born on May 16, 1983, and passed away on Saturday, January 17, 2026 after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, at the age of 42.
Rooster was a devoted husband, a proud father, and a man whose heart was deeply rooted in family and the outdoors. He is survived by his loving wife, Ashley Ilene Roberts his son, James Michael Roberts Jr. and his daughters, Holland Mae Roberts and Marley Jaymes Roberts, who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his brother, Ricky Roberts, along with many extended family members and friends who loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Anna Roberts and James Roberts, whom he carried with him in spirit throughout his life.
Rooster found peace and happiness in the woods whether hunting, fishing, camping, or simply being outdoors. Nature was where he felt most at home. Music was another constant in his life, often playing in the background of memories shared with family and friends. He lived simply, loved deeply, and valued time spent with the people who mattered most.
Above all else, Rooster loved his wife and children fiercely. His family was his pride, his purpose, and his greatest accomplishment. Those who knew him will remember his love for the outdoors, his loyalty to family, and the way he made those around him feel welcomed and cared for.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Honeyville Community Building in Wewahitchka, Florida 32465, on January 31st 2026 beginning at 2:00 PM Wewa Time. Family and friends are invited to come together to share stories, memories, and honor the life of a man who meant so much to so many.
Though his time here was far too short, the impact he made will live on through his children, his family, and the countless memories shared with those who loved him. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
