James Michael Roberts

Mike Roberts was born in Missouri on November 16, 1958. He was the eighth of ten siblings, joined later in life by two adopted siblings. Shortly after his birth, the family relocated to Norman, Oklahoma, where he spent the rest of his life and raised his family. He passed away at his home on January 23, 2026.
He worked as a welder in several different capacities over the years, retiring from Tinker Air Force Base. He was a hard worker and a talented creator who truly loved working with his hands. He took pride in solving problems and loved to observe the things he built operating as he knew they should. He loved to tell his kids that "something worth doing is worth doing the right way." In his free time, he enjoyed being outdoors, whether hunting, fishing, tending to his garden or simply sitting on his porch.
Mike was preceded in death by his parents Dick and Mary Roberts, his sister Teresa Roberts, and his wife Rebecca Roberts. He is survived by his daughter and son, PJ Meek and Steven Roberts, and Kyle Williams and Jesse Williams, whom he treasured as his own sons, as well as their families, all of Norman. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters Paul Roberts, Rick Roberts, Martie Vass, Anna Forbes, Rob Roberts, Russ Roberts, Greg Roberts, Chuck Roberts, Curtis Faust, and Corinne Blankenship, and the mother of his children, Kathryn Roberts. His family is large, to say the least, and he liked it that way. His family meant so very much to him.
What we will remember most about Mike is his sense of humor (especially his dance moves and favorite sayings), his laugh, and his love for life. He was uniquely sensitive and loved living a simple and quiet life. He worked hard and loved harder. There was never a time when someone was in need of help that he wouldn't make time to assist in whatever way he could. In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated, and there will be a memorial service for close friends and family to gather and celebrate his memory at a later date.
