James Rozek

James Patrick Rozek passed away on July 7, 2025 at the age of 74 after a very brief but
aggressive battle with cancer.
A native of Toledo, OH, he was born on May 28, 1951 to Edgar and Jennie (Ziolkowski) Rozek.
He attended Central Catholic High School and then enlisted into the Air Force. He went on to
work on Air Force One as a Staff Sergeant for Presidents Nixon, Ford, and Carter. He was very
proud of his time in the Air Force, especially on Air Force One, and had the most captivating
stories to share from his experiences. After he left the service, he created a very successful 40+
year career in the automotive industry including being a Sales Manager, General Manager and
F&I Manager in dealerships in the Toledo area before his retirement in 2015.
Nothing meant more to Jim than his family. As a devoted family man, he always said that being
a father was his entire existence and cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He
moved to Michigan in 2019 to be closer to his daughter, Megan. He was the person Megan
would go to with a funny story to share, advice needed, or just to chat while driving in the car.
He would drop anything to take those calls.
An avid fan of Central Catholic Football, he would listen to every game on the radio broadcast
and text into the media booth.
Jim leaves behind his beloved daughter, Megan Doyle and her husband, Connor Doyle; his two
adoring grandchildren, Harper James Doyle and Liam Patrick Doyle; as well as loving nieces,
nephews, and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Edgar Rozek; mother, Jennie
Rozek; and brother, Michael Rozek.
A private Celebration of Life will be planned for close family and friends. Please feel free to
share any great memories you had with Jim privately with his daughter or at the service as a
beautiful book will be made to keep his stories alive to his grandchildren.
Jim will be missed tremendously. He will be remembered for his kindness, unwavering love for
his family and friends, and being an amazing storyteller who always had a witty joke to tell. He
was the first person anyone would want to call for a history or 50's-80's pop culture question.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital
as this was a charity that Jim was extremely proud and passionate about with his dedicated
financial commitment to the work they do.
