James "Jim" Rush, 58, Carmi passed away on Sunday, September 17, 2023 at his home. He was born in Evansville, IN on September 30, 1964 the son of James Hobson, Sr. and Bonnie Rush. Jim married Frances Williams on August 24, 1985.
Jim loved being outdoors, squirrel and deer hunting, fishing, and frog jigging. He loved building things and make jerky. Jim was a beloved husband and a wonderful father and grandfather.
Jim is survived by his wife, Frances; daughter, Amy (Kory Lary) Rush; step-daughter, Crystal (Zac) Bennett; grandchildren, Trenton Rush and Trinity Gonzales; brother, Delbert (Carol) Hobson; nephews, Justin Pierce, Eric Pierce, Lucas Eastep and Gary Moore; nieces, Felcia Brown, Brittany Burton and Megan Fetcher; along with several aunts, uncles, cousins and great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and step-father, Bonnie and Glen Moore; father James Hobson, Sr., sisters, Glenda Smith and Elizabeth Fetcher; brothers, Guy "Roscoe" Moore and Gary Moore; niece, Johanna Wiegel, great-nephew, Eric Bryant and several aunts and uncles.
Services for James "Jim" Rush, 58, of Carmi will be held on Thursday, September 21, 2023, with visitation from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Campbell Funeral Home in Carmi. A graveside funeral service will be held immediately following the visitation at Union Ridge Cemetery near New Haven. In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial contributions be made in Jim's memory to Campbell Funeral Home to assist with funeral expenses.
