James J Sapp Sr.

James J. Sapp, Sr., 85, of North Huntingdon, passed peacefully on January 18, 2026, in Monroeville. He was born on April 6, 1940, in North Huntingdon, a son of the late Joseph and Mary (Ziros) Sapp. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph "Jerry" Sapp. Jim is survived by his beloved children, Heather Sapp Irwin (Thomas Decker) and James "Jamie" J. Sapp, Jr. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Jim proudly served his country as a United States Air Force veteran, where he served as a firefighter. During his service, he was stationed for a time in Madrid, Spain. Following his military service, he was a longtime member of the Carpenters Union Local No. 230. In his free time, Jim enjoyed music, movies, and cars, passions that brought him much joy throughout his life. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Ott Funeral Home, Inc., 805 Pennsylvania Avenue, Irwin, PA 15642. A funeral service will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Brush Creek Cemetery.
