James Savory Obituary
Jim was born on May 5, 1958, to the late Jean Tyler Savory and Robert N. Savory in Brattleboro, VT. He was educated locally at Hinsdale High School class of 1976.
After high school, James enlisted in the United States Marine Corps. He served his country with honor as an anti-tank Assault man. Jim was the recipient of the Good Conduct Medal, Letter of Commendation, Rifle Marksman Marksmanship Badge, and Pistol Marksman Marksmanship Badge. He was honorably discharged at the rank of LCpl-E3 on December 10, 1981, after three years of service to the Second Marine Div, Camp LeJeune, NC.
On February 15, 1986, Jim exchanged vows with the love of his life, Pamela J. Green. They had a simple service with family and friends at the First Congregational Church in Hinsdale and have been happily married for 37 years.
James worked at Landmark College as a security officer for 16 years until he retired in September of 2023. Prior, Jim worked at the Cheshire County Sheriff's Department for 20 years as their Sargent Deputy Sheriff. He also was a police officer for the Hinsdale Police Department for 2 years.
Mr. Savory is survived by his wife, Pam Savory of Hinsdale, their children, Amanda L. Savory of Hinsdale and Tyler J. Savory, and his fiancé, Chloe Tatosian of New York, NY. He is also survived by his two siblings, Deb J. Wilson and her husband, Bob of Hinsdale, and Gary N. Savory and his wife Kelly of Hinsdale. Along with many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Calling hours will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Friday, November 17, 2023, in the Cheshire Family Funeral Chapel, 44 Maple Ave. Keene, NH. 03431. A private burial will take place in the family lot at Pine Grove Cemetery in Hinsdale. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made out to the. All services are under the care of Cheshire Family Funeral Home and Crematories, 46 S. Winchester St. Swanzey, NH. 03446. www.cheshirefamilyfh.com.

One of my favorite memories with Officer Savory as we called him at Landmark College was one night after a Campus Activity Event when I was CAB's Tech Director. I was putting away the sound equipment that was used for that event and officer Savory was locking up the student center but knew I was still in the middle of packing up the equipment from the event and told me "James ( as my name is also James) I am going to lock the doors of the Student Center. When you are done putting away the equipment and leave just give the campus security line a ring so I know you are out of the building. Normally security would not allow students to be in non dorm buildings after hours but Officer Savory always would allow me access if I needed it for CAB events when it came to setup or breaking down events even when I had not setup prior permission he always told me don't tell one it be between you and I. He is going to truly be missed.

James was a great campus safety officer! At my time At landmark and always had a joke up his sleeve he will be missed greatly!

The times Officer Savory made me laugh was when he used to joke around with me when I went in a for new ID about how many I have gotten over the years. It was about 25 or 26 of them.

Dear Pam, Amanda, and Tyler,
I am so sorry to hear of Jim's passing. I remember, fondly, the memories of our boys playing baseball through the years. I am so grateful for the many games and tournaments that brought us all together as friends.
Jim was a good man and friend to many.
I pray that you will find peace and know that my heart is with you during this painful time.
