James D. Sexton, 54, of 547 Clinton St. Woonsocket, RI, passed away on August 19, 2025, at Landmark Medical Center. Born in Whitesburg, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Douglas and Anna Lou (Hensley) Sexton. Jim was a deputy in the Whitesburg Sheriff's Department. He enjoyed creating handcrafted leatherwork, guns, fishing and hunting.

James is survived by his domestic partner Nancy Tedeschi of Woonsocket, daughter, Summer Short (Cody) of Whitesburg, KY, and his grandson, George. James will be remembered for his kindness, creativity, and devotion to his family and friends. Funeral arrangements are private.
