James Francis Shaffer

James Francis Shaffer, aged 73, passed away peacefully on March 2, 2025, surrounded by love and warmth. Born on November 3, 1951, in Johnstown, PA, James was the embodiment of kindness, wit, and gentleness, touching many lives with his jovial spirit.
He shared 45 beautiful years with his beloved wife, Alice Shaffer, who remains a testament to their enduring love. James was predeceased by his parents the late Edwin Shaffer and Isabel Gordon; his late grandparents Lillian and Pete Gordon. His legacy is treasured by his brother, Richard, and his wife, Susan Shaffer, along with his much-adored nieces, Sara Shaffer and her partner TJ, Samantha and her husband Adrian Szelazek. His brother-in-law Ralph May, Curt and wife Sandy May, Dave May, and sister-in-law Patricia May, also survive him.
James lived a life replete with his passions, casting for the next big catch and wholeheartedly cheering for the Orioles, Pittsburgh Steelers and Penguins. His absence will be felt deeply, yet his memory will forever evoke smiles and fond remembrance.
