With unimaginable sorrow and broken hearts, we share the sudden and tragic passing of our dear Kimberly "Kimmie" Beth Lechner, 56, of
Monkton, Maryland, on Monday, September 29th, 2025. Kim was a devoted wife and a proud, adoring mom of her two greatest joys - Riley and Lily. She was the beloved daughter of Joan and Eddie Andersen, and a treasured sister to Erika Andersen-Hiler (Eddie), Laurie Andersen, and Matt Andersen. Kim was also a cherished aunt, great-aunt, cousin, friend, and teacher. Kim's story began in Brooklyn, New York, where she was born on January 20, 1969. After the Andersen family moved to Monmouth County, she enjoyed a beautiful childhood in Middletown, New Jersey. She attended St. Mary's Grammar School and later Mater Dei High School - both of which remained central to many of her fondest childhood memories. Some of her most cherished moments were spent during summers at the Middletown Swim Club, playing soccer throughout her childhood and high school years, meeting friends at the Middletown Movie Theatre and enjoying family pizza nights at Nino's, always followed by a stop at Carvel. Her next chapter began at Loyola College in Baltimore, Maryland. Though she didn't know it at the time, this experience would become deeply significant, laying the foundation for Maryland to become Kim's forever home.
Following graduation, Kim fortified her professional business career at T. Rowe Price. She continued to advance her career for 14 years until she was ready to begin the next chapter of her life, becoming a proud mom. From growing and nurturing her own beautiful family, she then found the next career path she was truly meant to follow - teaching at Two by Two Preschool. Kim found her calling in nurturing generations of "The Doves." She discovered immense joy in guiding toddlers through their first experiences with learning and discovery. Her gentle spirit, endless patience, warm smile, and infectious laughter touched the lives of countless children and families in
Monkton, Maryland. Her legacy of love and kindness will continue to ripple through the hearts of all who knew her. Kim lived for family traditions, her surprise visits home to NJ, her creative and thoughtful gifts, family vacations, witty jokes, warm check-in text messages just because, late-night singing sessions with family, famous Christmas Bark and Taco Pie, annual Halloween parties, cousins girls weekends; the list goes on. Above all, Kim's greatest passion was her entire family. Kim's steadfast commitment to her friends was unmatched. When Kim walked into a room, she radiated from the inside out-her bright blonde hair, her infectious laugh, and her undeniable presence lighting up every space. She was a devoted and loyal friend who always showed up when it mattered most. No gathering ever felt complete without her, and her close circle of friends considered themselves beyond blessed. If Kim called you a friend, you were never truly alone. Kim loved wholeheartedly, smiled with abandon, radiated optimism, and showed unconditional love for every person in her life. This is evident through the Monkton community, who have become her second family. We will each remember Kim in our own special way. We are certain she will be remembered by all of us for her beauty, her warm hugs, her fashion sense, her endless compassion, and her ability to light up every room with her smile. Though Kim's life was heartbreakingly cut short, it was filled with profound meaning and an abundance of love. While our hearts are broken beyond measure, we take comfort in the love she gave and the countless lives she touched. She will forever remain in our hearts.
