James Sharp Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Fitzgerald Funeral Home - Ness City on Dec. 14, 2025.
James Byron "JB" Sharp, age 59, passed away on December 10, 2025, at his home in Ness City, Kansas. He was born on May 21, 1966, in Spearville, Kansas, the son of James Sharp and Patricia (McMillan) Sharp.

JB earned his MBA from Emporia State University. He proudly served his country as a veteran of the National Guard before transferring to the United States Navy, where he served for six years. Following his military service, JB built a successful career as an electronics technician with Cargill in Dodge City.

He was a member of the Ransom VFW Post 7972. Though a quiet man by nature, JB was known by those closest to him as highly intelligent, quick-witted, and possessing a wonderful sense of humor that left a lasting impression.

JB is survived by his three sisters, Barbara Clark (Raymond) of Burrton, Kansas, Victoria Bauer of Hutchinson, Kansas, and Kathrine Bauer of Hutchinson, Kansas; along with many beloved nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Patricia and John "Del" Bauer; his father, Jim Sharp; and his sister, Lisa Sharp.

Cremation has taken place, and memorial services will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to the James Sharp Funeral Fund in care of Fitzgerald Funeral Home.
