James Simien

James Martin Simien "Big James" 44, was born October 31, 1980 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to James Wallace Simien and Patricia Martin Simien. He was a graduate of LaGrange High School and a member of Waters Edge Church. James worked as a heavy equipment operator for many years before becoming ill. He Loved the outdoors and spending time with all those close to him. He never met a stranger or missed putting a smile on people's faces. He Loved Dem New Orleans Saints and putting a spoon to the pot any and everywhere he went. He was known by so many as the father figure, Brother, Friend and confidant they never had. His Heart was pure and his Love for God gave him hope each and every day. He departed this life Tuesday, February 25, 2025, in Lake Charles. He leaves to cherish his memories, his wife and soul mate Yvonne Linan; two daughters, Renee Simien (David Rhodes Jr.) and Elaina Perkins; sons, Lee Simien, Timothy Linan (Cheryl Conner), and Robert McCarver, Jr,; sister, Brianne Simien; brother. Cavis Grogan; brother-in-law, Nathan McCarver; three grandchildren who he lived everyday for, Hayden Linan, Kaycen Linan, and Kyrie Nickerson; godchild, Aniyla Albert ; nephews/niece Christian, Aviona and Bryce Braxton and Alexander Moss along with a host of other relatives and friends. His visitation will be Thursday, March 6, 2025, from 11AM-1PM with Funeral Services to begin at 1 PM at James Funeral Home in Lake Charles, LA.
