James Bernard Simmons

James "Jamie" Simmons, born August 14, 1970, in Crystal River, Florida and entered
eternity on December 1, 2025, with loved ones present. He is the beloved son of the late
James Simmons Sr. and Brenda Burnell Simmons.
Affectionately known as "Jamie", he was raised in a close-knit community that helped
shaped his character, resilience, and generous spirit. A gifted athlete from an early age,
Jamie excelled on the football field and earned a scholarship to San Jose State University,
where his talent continued to shine.
Jamie possessed an extraordinarily creative mind and displayed exceptional hands-on skill.
Whether rebuilding motors, crafting detailed designs, or imagining multi-dimensional
homes, he approached every project with passion and precision. He cherished memories
of working alongside his father and brothers, building seawalls, landscaping, and bringing
ideas to life. His hands were never idle and his craftmanship touched countless lives.
Jamie will be remembered as a charismatic and intelligent man, who accepted people's
individuality and valued relationships he fostered with them. He was fun-loving but
successfully managed serious matters with confidence and resilience. His warmth,
humor, kindness and generosity will be missed. The deep love that he shared with his
family and friends will not be forgotten. His big personality brought joy and his willingness
to help others leaves an enduring mark on all who knew him.

Jamie's memory lives on through his stepson Michael Sancho Sr., Michael Sancho Jr., and
DeAnthony Sancho. His loving sisters Elaine Thomas (Gregory), Linda Brown (Harold),
Cathy Hinz (Todd), Bridgette Jackson-Scott and Renee Lewis (Donald) and brothers Robert
Jackson, James Simmons Jr. (Tina), George Lyndell Johnson (Teresa), and Demetrius
Simmons (Inisha) will cherish his memory. His enduring friendship with Jermaine Cade
epitomized loyalty. His many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends
will forever cherish his laughter, storytelling, confidence and love.
The Lord is close to the brokenhearted; he rescued those whose spirits are crushed.
