James Elmer Smith was born March 27, 1946 in West Shiloh, TN, the son of the late Elmer Reid Smith and Lessie Lee Smith.
Elmer was united in marriage to Tina Berry on March 27, 1982. He was a member of the West Shiloh Baptist Church in Stantonville, Tennessee and was baptized there on April 1, 1961. He worked for Duren Supply in Adamsville, TN for 20 years and retired from PCA after 31 years. He was a hardworking man who took pride in providing for his family.
His passions extended beyond his work; James had a profound love for raising horses and donkeys, as well as a knack for trading. However, his greatest joy came from the time he spent with his grandchildren. To commemorate their first Christmas, he lovingly gifted each grandchild a Red Ryder BB gun, a gesture that reflected his playful spirit and desire to share cherished moments with them.
Mr. Smith departed this life on September 21, 2024 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 78 Years, 5 Months, 25 Days.
He is survived by his wife, Tina Smith; two sons, Daren Smith (Susan), Chris Smith (Kinsee) all of Stantonville, TN; three grandchildren: Benji, Bayli, and Landon Smith; two step grandchildren: Sarah Surratt (Aaron) and their son Waylon Surratt, and Hunter Davis (Jessica).
