BOURBON - James A. Snyder, 74, was ushered into the arms of his Lord on Friday, May 23, 2025, at home surrounded by his family.
He was born on October 8, 1950, in Plymouth, Indiana. James was the son of Robert and Ruth (Sahlhoff) Snyder. James graduated from Triton High School with the class of 1969.
James and Vicky were married on July 2, 1972, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Bremen IN They shared 52 years of wonderful marriage. He worked as a polisher for DePuy Synthes for 40 years before retiring.
James was a minister, a coach, a volunteer EMT, a volunteer probation officer, a fisher of men, a teacher, front porch sitter. The best husband, Dad, Pawpa, brother, son, friend you could ever have. He was the #1 fan to all of his grandchildren. Most importantly, he loved Jesus Christ with all his heart, and James truly sought out his Savior in everything that he did.
James loved going to Mongo, IN, on the Pigeon River for his annual fishing trip with the men of the family and friends for fellowship. He also enjoyed spending time riding his Harley.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ in Argos.
He is survived by his wife Vicky of Bourbon; children: Misty Musilli of Bourbon; James (Sarah) Snyder of Tippecanoe; Amber Snyder of Plymouth; Autumn Snyder of Bourbon; Travis (Sara) Snyder of Bourbon; siblings: Marvin (Cheryl) Snyder of Bourbon; Denis (Kathy) Snyder of Syracuse; Susan Snyder of Bourbon; Nancy (Brett) Nordmann of Bourbon; Mark (Crystal) Snyder of Bourbon; Gary Snyder of Bourbon; Judy Snyder of Kansas; Grandchildren: Makayla (Ryan) Bosse, Mariah (Jayden Hargrave) Musilli, Sydney Musilli, Kylie Musilli, Brady Snyder, Makenna Belin, James Snyder, Luke Snyder, Malachi Greene, Nathan Riggins, Haley Riggins; great-grandchildren: Conor, Beckham, Lux, Finnley, Navy James , Sutton, Colter.
James is preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Robert Lee Snyder and Retha Connor, as well as his granddaughter Kyra Greene.
Visitation will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025, from 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ, 15676 Michigan Road, Argos, IN 46501. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor James Snyder officiating.
Burial will take place in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Bourbon.
