Jim Solley, 91 of Bartlett, TN passed away from this life on January 22, 2026.

Jim was born to Grady and Verda Solley in Hollins, Alabama, where he grew up. Jim graduated from Jacksonville State University, majoring in business education and was a member of the ROTC program. After graduation, Jim joined the United States Army. He later moved to Memphis, TN and was the acting Field Director with the Red Cross and Army Reserve at the Millington base. Upon his retirement from the Army, Jim began his career with First National Bank of Tennessee until his retirement.

Jim loved old cars and he and Sue traveled to many car shows, showing some of his prize possessions. They also loved to line dance.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Grady and Verda; his first wife, Obera Solley; and a stepson, Mike Adams.

Jim is survived by his wife, Sue Solley of Bartlett, TN; three sons, James Alan Solley of Memphis, TN, Rusty (Lisa) Adams of Jonesboro, AR; Jeff Adams of Clinton, AR; and daughter in law, Deborah Adams of Bartlett, TN.

Jim also leaves behind grandchildren, Alana Adams of Bartlett, TN, Dean (Jordan) Adams of Magnet Cove, AR; Madison (Brandon) Byrd of Hot Springs, AR; Weston Adams of Benton, AR; and Brooke (Kyle) Pruett of Jonesboro, Ar. as well as nine great grandchildren.

Jim is also survived by his sister, Ann (Norman) Ray, of Sylacauga, AL and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mullins United Methodist Church youth program.
