James Nathan Spraggins, known by his family and friends as Nat, a beloved figure in the lives of many, passed away on August 17, 2025, at the age of 65. Born on October 2, 1959, in Rome, Georgia, Nat lived a life filled with laughter, love, and an enduring passion for his work and hobbies.
After dedicating 28 years to his career at Georgia Power as a Lineman, Nat retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. His colleagues remember him fondly for his unwavering dedication and exemplary work ethic, but also for his great sense of humor that could lighten even the toughest of days. Nat had a myriad of interests that enriched his life. He found joy in outdoor activities, particularly spending time at the beach and indulging in fishing. He was also an enthusiastic gamer, enjoying online games such as Dungeons and Dragons, where he often immersed himself in the intricate worlds crafted by his imagination. Additionally, Nat was an avid basketball fan and was proud to have played on his high school team as well as in the church leagues. These passions often brought him closer to friends and family, creating cherished memories that would last a lifetime.
He is survived by his loving daughters, Heather (Daniel) Roehl, Ashley (Scott Payne) Spraggins, and Kimberly Spraggins, along with five grandchildren, Hunter and Brielle Reeves, Sophie Spraggins, Ellee and Evey Roehl, who were the light of his life. Nats' legacy will continue through the love and laughter he shared with his family.
Nat was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Sue Flowers Spraggins, and his brothers, Jeff Spraggins and Robert Spraggins. Their memories and influence were a significant part of Nats' life, and he honored their legacy through the values they instilled in him.
As we remember James Nathan Spraggins, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by his strength, humor, and love for family and friends. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
