James Cosino Sprano

James Cosino Sprano 1970-2026 known to his friends as "Jay" was born in Burlington, Vermont. He passed away unexpectedly on February 19, 2026. Jay was a husband, father, grandfather and friend whose kindness, generosity and sense of humor, often in the form of sarcasm, will remain in the hearts of those who knew him. His friends and family remember him as a man with great integrity, work ethic and the love he had for his family.

Jay loved driving his front load truck but his love for animals and anything with wheels had him driving tractors, and farming (milking cows) on the weekends for over 20 plus years. He enjoyed car shows, racing cars, horse pulling, woodworking, and most of all spending time hanging with family and friends, catching up and having a beer. He will be deeply missed by his family, many friends, and all who knew him.

Jay is survived by his wife Buffy, his daughters Ashley and partner Matt, as well as Sara and partner Bre. And his grandchildren, Maria-Lynn, Kayliegh, Kaylob, Lacey, Chelsea and Bella. He is survived by his mother Sheila. He was preceded in death by his father Raymond and two brothers, Ritchie and Rayme.

An informal Celebration of Life with light refreshments will be held at Swanton VFW Post 778 on Sunday March 15, 2026 at 1pm.
