Gayl Vigneault Corliss
BARRE – On October 4, 1937, Gayl was born to Paul Leo and Phyllis (Philips) Vigneault of

She held various jobs throughout her career – starting out as a soda jerk at Whelan's Drug Store, a teller/clerk at the First National Bank of Barre, S&H green stamps store, and ending her long career at the Times Argus as a typesetter/proof reader until her retirement in 2001.
She married the love of her life, Ronald Corliss, in Barre, on May 24, 1958, where they made their home. Together they raised 4 daughters. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She had a great love of the outdoors and of creation. She loved to travel and together with dad; they traveled to the entire coast of Maine, and Prince Edward Island several times. They made many friends along the way. She was always active and in the winter, she would be out skating, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, sliding and 1000 piece jigsaw puzzles. Summertime brought gardening, swimming, camping and berry picking. She was an avid card player and loved to play cards and board games, often into the wee hours of the morning. Fall she would start harvesting the garden and would can and freeze vegetable, and make the best pickles and mincemeat. Spring meant fiddlehead picking and planting the garden.
They found faith in 1963 when they started studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses. Her strong belief in God's promises has given her strength when she needed it and helped her endure when times were tough. Gayl's hope in the resurrection gives not only peace to her but also those who knew her. She passionately shared her beliefs with any and all. Baptized as a Jehovah's Witness on March 24, 1968, she remained faithful to her beliefs right up until she fell asleep in death.
