Ronald Thomas Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by A.W. Rich Funeral Home - Fairfax on Mar. 27, 2026.
STOWE - Ronald (Ronnie) Dean Thomas, 64, drove off on his heavenly Harley on March 21, 2026. Passing in his sleep at home in Stowe , VT.

Born on July 29, 1961, in Holyoke, MA. Ronnie was the son of the late William and Ileana Thomas of the Town of Cambridge. They instilled in him the value of hard work, loyalty and kindness that he showed every day.

Ronnie was a dedicated and skilled carpenter who took great pride in his work. Beginning in the construction field with his father, he learned skills that would serve him well throughout his career. Initially employed by Locke Construction of Waterville working along side of his father. Over the years Ronnie kept learning and gathering skills to be the best. Working for local companies CCS and Engelberth Construction for several years.

"The Stone Man" gravestone maintenance service was developed by Ronnie. He had a great respect for veterans, as his father and a few of his brothers had served. Ronnie would find a marker from a veteran while doing a regular job, and spruce it up for free, out of respect for their service.

He had many varied interests; youth boxing, softball, wrestling, hockey and of course his love of riding his Harley. Hockey was number one though. His son, Logan, got interested in hockey and for the next 12 years developed into quite a player. Getting up at 4 am to go to practice shows a father's true devotion to his son. Ronnie also thought that with a little more training he could coach. It would have been fun for sure.

Above all Ronnie was a brother, father, grandfather who loved his family deeply.

Ronnie was predeceased by his sister Sandy Trombley and both parents. He is survived by his daughter Natalia of South Florida, sons Logan Thomas of Stowe and Andrew Keen of Montpelier. His siblings; Jeanette Martin and her husband Chris of Morrisville, William Thomas and Orland Thomas of Stowe, Edward Thomas and his wife Cathy of North Wolcott, Dennis Thomas of Morrisville and Robert Thomas of Barre.

Ronnie will be remembered for his kind heart and generosity he showed all. Always having a funny story to share or a helping hand if you needed it. His void is felt by so many.

A graveside service for immediate family will be held at a later date in the summer. A Celebration of Ronnie's Life will be held tentatively on June 20, 2026, from 1-6 pm at the VFW in Morrisville. Details will follow. Friends and loved ones are invited to share their condolences and a story or two.

In lieu of flowers please make contributions to the "Go Fund Me" site for his son Logan or the Stowe Youth Hockey League.
