James Walter “Jim” Stacks, 83, of Lepanto, Arkansas departed this life on Friday, February 4, 2022 in Jonesboro, Arkansas.  He was born on September 28, 1938 in Greenbriar, Arkansas to Ben Sr. and Jewell Strickland Stacks.  Jim served his country in the United States Navy, he was a member of the Lepanto Church of Christ and the American Legion.  He was retired from the Lepanto Fire Department and currently he was the dispatcher for Lepanto Police Department.  He was the owner of Fat Daddy’s BBQ and he was an avid Razorback and Cardinals fan, he was known by Pop to everyone and he was a big influence to every generation he worked with, Jim loved all his family but his grandchildren held a special place in his heart.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Ben Stacks Jr and three sisters: Nesta Tucker, Barbara Bryan and Deb Reeves.

 

Jim is survived by his wife: Peggy Henderson Stacks of Lepanto, Arkansas, two daughters: Karen Brown of Lepanto, Arkansas and Lisa Capps of West Memphis, Arkansas, two brothers: William Bill Stacks and Joann of Jonesboro, Arkansas and Kenneth Stacks of Jonesboro, Arkansas, two sisters: Donna Grisham of Bartlett, Tennessee and Patricia Simpson of Jonesboro, Arkansas, three grandchildren: Megan Buchanan and Tim of Lepanto, Arkansas, Joshua Brown of Lepanto, Arkansas and Cody Brown and Nicole of Searcy, Arkansas, six great grandchildren: Austin Buchanan, Caden Brown, Dakoda Buchanan, Walker Brown, Weston Brown and Gabi Buchanan and a host of other family and many friends.

 

Funeral service will be held Thursday, February 10, 2022 at 2:00p.m. at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.

 

Visitation will be held Thursday from 1:00p.m. until service time.

 

Interment will follow at Potter Memorial Cemetery in Lepanto, Arkansas.

 

In lieu of flowers family requests donation be made in his honor to the Children’s Home in Paragould, Arkansas.

 

Arrangments are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, Arkansas.
