Laverne Davis, 95, of Caraway, Arkansas departed this life on Monday, February 2, 2026. She was born on December 29, 1930 in Chickasaw County, Mississippi to Alvie Griggs and Flora Hulsey Griggs.
She was of the Church of God faith and lived her life rooted in love for all who knew her. She was a talented seamstress, and took pride in everything she did. Whether she was in the kitchen preparing delicious meals, eating and sharing time well spent with her family. She found joy in fishing, family gatherings and making memories with the ones she loved. Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her grandbabies, great grandbabies and she was looking forward to her great- great grandbaby that is on the away.
She is preceded in death by her husband: Charles Irven Davis, her son: David Davis, her parents, four brothers: Alvie Griggs, Jr., James “Son” Griggs, Williams Arnold Griggs and Thomas Cooper Griggs, two sisters: Virginia Ayers and Lorene Burgess.
Laverne is survived by her daughter-in-law: Mary Davis of Caraway, two grandchildren: Cindy Schneider (Eli Bishop) of Caraway and Chuck Davis (Melissa) of Leachville, three great grandchildren: Chareigan Conway (Nathan) of Paraould, Jonathan Schneider of Caraway, and Avery Davis of Leachville, and one great-great grandbaby on the way: Knox Evin Conway, one brother: David Griggs (Barbara) of Mississippi, two sisters: Elizabeth Johnson of Mississippi and Orene Davis of Mississippi
A funeral service will be held at Delancey Funeral Home in Lepanto, on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 11:00 a.m. and visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. til service time.
Burial will follow service at Caraway Cemetery, Caraway, Arkansas.
Arrangements are under the care of Delancey Funeral Home, Lepanto.
