James Edward Stainsby, born on December 18, 1938, in Flat Rock, Michigan, passed away peacefully on April 19, 2025, in Taylor, Michigan, at the age of 86.

For 42 years, James was a dedicated employee at Great Lakes Steel, where he formed lasting friendships and took great pride in his work. Known for his love of the outdoors, James found joy in gardening and cherishing the company of his beloved pets and animals. A devoted husband, father, and friend, he was happiest sitting outside in the sun or going for leisurely rides.

James relished spending time on his property in Irish Hills and enjoyed riding his John Deere tractor. His compassionate nature was evident through his involvement with various charities, and he will be remembered for his great sense of humor, kindness, and easy going nature.

James was preceded in death by his cherished wife, Nancy Stainsby, and his parents, William and Laura Stainsby. He is survived by his loving daughter, Sheri (Keith) Koeppen; his brother, John Stainsby; brother-in-law, Chuck Acheson; and family friend, Violet Carmona. He also leaves behind nieces, nephews, and cousins who will miss him dearly.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in James's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or the Michigan Humane Society.

His warmth, kindness, and laughter will be forever remembered by all who knew him.
