James Stanford

1949 - 2025

James Edward Stanford passed on July 25, 2025 at the age of 76. He was born on February 15, 1949 in New Albany, Mississippi to Jack and Mary Evelyn Stanford, who both pre-deceased him, as did one brother Dean Stanford. James is survived by his siblings, Linda Stanford, Gary Stanford (Melba), Allen Stanford (Carla) and Jackie Cissom, by his children Paul Stanford (Sherri Balmer), Lynn Cohan (Mike), Mary Jennifer Russell (Regan), and Jeff Stanford (Cheva), by his grandchildren Kelsey Strautz, Matt Cohan, Anna Cohan, Chloe Stanford, Corbin Stanford, Sylvie Russell, Conner Stanford, Camilla Stanford who pre-deceased him, and by his great-grandchild Elias Moore. James's primary passions were hunting, fishing, gardening, riding motorcycles, and playing with his grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 2, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at United Funeral Home in New Albany, MS. The funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 2, 2025, at the same location. Pallbearers will be Hunter Stanford, Ryne Stanford, Willie Stanford, Cody Stanford, Jake Stanford and Brandon Stanford. James will be missed.
